West defeats East in NBA All-Star game

Kobe Bryant led the assault on the Eastern Conference as his 31 points gave him his second All-Star Game MVP award of his career. The West beat the East by a commanding score of 153-132 on Sunday in front of a raucous crowd in Las Vegas.

Despite the high score, the game did not include any standout individual performances besides Bryant, not excluding the usually reliable All-Star point producer Shaquille O'Neal. Bryant's accomplishments included six assists, six steals and five rebounds. Bryant's 31 points gave him three more than last year's All-Star MVP, LeBron James. Leading the pack in All-Star appearances was O'Neal with his 14th and Kevin Garnett with his 10th.
