On Thursday, April 5 the Beehive Design Collective visited Geneseo to present their narrative picture lecture: "Globalization in Latin America and the Global Justice Movement." The Beehive Design Collective is a decentralized, grassroots, non-profit, all volunteer run art/activist collective with headquarters in Machias, Maine. The Bees presented their "Plan Columbia" graphic, designed to represent the impact of the United States' Plan Columbia on indigenous Columbians and their culture. The Bees' picture lecture used blown sections of the graphic to illustrate issues such as biodiversity, the history of colonialism, resource extraction and resistance.
