The Geneseo softball team returned from Kissimmee, Fla., attempting to stop a five-game losing streak after winning two out of three to open the season. The team was scheduled to play March 27 at St. John Fisher, hoping the grey skies of Western New York would treat them better than sunny Florida.
Unfortunately, another one of Geneseo's famous spring snowstorms got in the way and the team now has to wait another 11 days to get back on the field. The contest at St. John Fisher will be played on April 21 at 3 p.m.
A sunny and warm Tuesday afternoon would have been a picture-perfect day for softball, but the melting snow made fields soggy and could not be brought into playing shape for a safe contest. As a result, the doubleheader scheduled for April 1 vs. Buffalo State has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 22 at 3 p.m. on the Vic Raschi Field.
This coming weekend, the Knights will hope to break the losing streak as they travel to SUNY Potsdam on Friday, April 4 at 3 p.m. and SUNY Plattsburgh on Saturday, April 5 at 1 p.m.
