Geneseo's annual Springfest, hosted by Activities Commission, took place on Saturday, April 26. The event had to be moved to Kuhl Gym due to rain, but was still a success. Carnival-esque food such as snow cones, cotton candy, as well as the extremely popular barbecue chicken was all made available to the attendees.
AC also had help from other student organizations such as InterResidence Council.
"We're here to help hand out games and other activities," said junior Katelyn Conway. "We like to help out other organizations."
There were many different activities available such as inflatables, cartoonists and various games. Live bands also performed.
"There has been a lot of really good music here," said junior Daniel DeHollander. "I've been very impressed with the student bands."
In addition to the good music there was a huge portion of great food for only $1, which many attendees found appealing.
"The food was fantastic," said junior Meri Teasdale. The meal was also a nice change from the usual campus food and had the feeling of summer because of the barbeque and sweets.
Unfortunately, the weather brought Springfest inside for the second year in a row.
"I was really looking forward to it being outside," said sophomore Katelyn Palumbo. "I hoped to enjoy the weather."
There was still a good showing for the event, even though the fact that it was moved to Kuhl Gym was not well publicized.
Despite the obstacles, those in attendance enjoyed Springfest.
"It is nice to have something to do on a Saturday," said sophomore Keren Carmeli. "It's a different place for my friends and me to hang out."
