Pigskin Pick'em: Week 4, 2008

Coming off a last-second victory at home over Oakland last week, the Bills have solidified themselves as the surprise team of the NFL's first few weeks. Convincing wins over playoff contenders Seattle and Jacksonville have them sitting alone atop the AFC East, having scored the second most points of any AFC team thus far. Trent Edwards, who orchestrated pivotal fourth quarter touchdown-scoring drives in their last two victories, will lead the Bills on a month-long road trip starting in St. Louis. The Rams have dropped all three of their games in convincing fashion, scoring the second fewest points and allowing the most points in the entire NFL. The Bills will look to control the pace of the game and use Marshawn Lynch to run through a dreadful St. Louis rush defense.

The Pick: Buffalo

The Jets became the victim of the Chargers' coming out party on Monday night, as San Diego erased any doubts caused by their 0-2 start. The Jets turned the ball over four times and saw a shaky Brett Favre struggle to get into rhythm with his receivers, showing he has yet to become comfortable in the new system. The Cards suffered their first loss in week three, but have shown that they can move the ball through the air. The defense has been a pleasant surprise in Arizona. The Cardinals, like the Chargers, will spread the Jets' defense and pressure Favre into mistakes.

The Pick: Arizona

The Redskins come into Dallas after an impressive performance by Washington quarterback Jason Campbell, who completed 22 of 30 pass attempts for 193 yards and 2 scores against Arizona last week. The quarterback position had been a cause of concern for the Redskins, who will need a strong performance from Campbell to beat the undefeated Cowboys on the road. Dallas has maintained one of the league's most prolific offenses, leading the league in yards gained. Tony Romo will find the holes in Washington's spotty secondary, and unless the Redskins can manage to control the clock with the running game, Dallas' potent scoring attack will prove to be too much.

The Pick: Dallas

This Monday night matchup showcases the only two contenders in the AFC North, after the anemic start of the Bengals and Browns, who are a combined 0-6. The hurricane-induced postponement of a game in Houston contest means that the Ravens come in relatively untested, defeating only their two cellar-dwelling division mates. However, they are undefeated nonetheless and have established one of the league's best rushing attacks, averaging 190 yards per game. The Steelers showed resilience in their week three loss to Philadelphia, counteracting a pathetic offensive effort - they allowed eight sacks - with a strong defensive effort. The Steelers will load the box defensively to force the Ravens to beat them through the air, while Ben Roethlisberger will rebound in the passing game to pull out a win at home.

The Pick: Pittsburgh
