Letter to the Editor: Student aims to bring hunter spirituality down to earth

To the editor:

This is a brief response to the article, "In defense of hunting," by Goings On Editor, Aaron Davis. While I agree with his argument that hunting is more humane than what goes on in slaughterhouses, I beg to differ that killing an animal should be regarded as a "spiritual" act. Man is more powerful than beast, especially since we have more advanced technology (e.g., guns). No matter how many times the animal you are seeking to kill may escape, hunting is a game that favors the more powerful player. Think about what kind of "spirituality" you seek before going out and hunting again.
