The Geneseo men's basketball team lost a tough matchup last Saturday to the Buffalo State Bengals by a score of 71-55.
The loss dropped the Blue Knights into a tie for fourth place with a 4-3 record in SUNYAC play and dropped their overall record to 10-6.
Senior guard Scott Morton led Geneseo in scoring with 21 points, while senior forward Jeff Howe added 14 points.
Despite losing the game, Geneseo had a great rebound advantage over Buffalo State, outrebounding the Bengals by 11, including an impressive 21 rebounds on the offensive end.
Buffalo State entered the matchup allowing an average of about 74 points per game, which ranked near the bottom of the SUNYAC conference. Despite this, Geneseo was unable to get their offense in rhythm against the Bengals defense, due to a season high 24 turnovers which limited their number of offensive possessions.
The Blue Knights return to the court Friday night against New Paltz.
