Moviegoers treated to quality during awards season

Awards season has begun, which normally means big upsets, never-ending "Thank you" speeches, and of course, crazy fashion.

Though the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild Awards supplied us with those speeches and a few "What-were-you-thinking?" dresses, the actual awards did not hold many surprises this year.

After the Golden Globes dished out awards to most of the audience's choices, the SAG Awards, voted for by members of the entertainment industry, basically mimicked the winners of the Globes.

Though the Golden Globes and the SAG awards are great for publicity, the real question lies in who will take home the Oscars. Viewers are left to find out if these winners are just a preview for the big red carpet event in March.
