Goings on: Week of Jan. 28, 2011

Thursday

The sisters of Sigma Kappa will host a recruitment event, Sunny Day with Sigma K from 5-7 p.m. at the Southside Volleyball Courts. All women interested in recruitment are welcome to attend.

GENseng will present its 14th anniversary show, “Ching Chong Chinaman” on May 2 and 3 at 7 p.m. and May 4 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available at the Student Association Box Office.

Friday

Relieve some stress with a massage by a Licensed Massage Therapist at the Lauderdale Health Center on May 3, 7, 10 and 14. Massages are $10. To schedule appointment, call (585) 245-5747.

The Tremont String Quartet featuring Department Chair of Music Jonathan Gonder will perform in Wadsworth Auditorium at 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the pubilc.

Saturday

There will be a 3 vs. 3 Basketball Tournament on May 4 in Kuhl Gymnasium at 1 p.m. There will be a $5 suggested donation per player. All proceeds will benefit an organization for women’s basketball captain Lea Sobieraski. For more information contact Melissa Spada at ms34@geneseo.edu.

Activities Commission Special Events and Mac’s Place present Springfest 2013. The event will take place from 2-6 p.m. on the College Union Patio. The event is free and all are welcome to attend.

Sunday

The Walk for Cats will take place at the Highland Park Depot at 1:30 p.m. For more information call (585) 243-0873. 

The Geneseo Symphony Orchestra will host its final concert at 3 p.m. in Wadsworth Auditorium. The even is free and open to the public.

Monday

There will be a Blood Drive at the Livingston County Government Center from 2-7 p.m. For more information, call (585) 243-7029.

The Geneseo Percussion Ensemble will perform its final concert of the semester at 8 p.m. in Wadsworth Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. 

Wednesday

The Origami Club will meet at Wadsworth Library at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome, beginners included. Light refreshments will be served. 

Upcoming

The second annual Warsaw 5k Tiger Trot/Run will be on Sunday May 11 for the Partners for Prevention Scholarship Fund. There is a $25 pre-registration fee. To register, visit  tigertrot.weebly.com.

The Geneseo Chamber Singers Spring Concert and Alumni Reunion will take place on Sunday May 11 at 8 p.m. in Wadsworth Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. 

Learn to grow your own vegetables at the Wadsworth Library on Monday, May 13 at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
