Claire Allen, child of Geneseo professor, dies in car accident

Claire Allen, the teenage daughter of associate professor of psychology James Allen, was struck and killed by a car while running on Route 39 in Geneseo. The Geneseo Central School District held a memorial service on Monday Sept. 11. 

Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty characterized Allen’s death as an accident and cited no suspicious activities, according to a Thursday Sept. 7 Livingston County News article. Holly Mullen, a Geneseo resident, was identified by the Sheriff’s Office as the driver, according to a Friday Sept. 8 Buffalo News article. Allen was running with a friend when the driver hit her as she tried to cross the road on Route 39.

The Allen family requests that the community respect their privacy at this time.
