Geneseo hosted its 13th annual Geneseo Recognizing Excellence, Achievement and Talent Day on Wednesday April 17 in various locations around campus. Hundreds of students presented and attended the two poster sessions held in the College Union ballroom and various research presentations in academic buildings.
Music performances took place in South Hall Quad throughout the morning, along with others around campus during the day. Data strategist Stephanie Singer gave the keynote lecture in Wadsworth Auditorium entitled “Democracy: Your Path to Power” to a robust crowd.
The 13th annual GREAT Day also saw the winners of submissions for the GREAT Battle of the Artists and the Geneseo Insomnia Film Festival. The winner of the GREAT Battle of the Artists was business administration major senior Marguerite Bosco. The third place winners for the Insomnia Film Festival was between one team—English major sophomore Natalie Hayes, geography major junior Martin Benzinger, international relations and English double major junior Dong Won Oh and psychology major senior Lindsey Kriaris—and another team—communication major junior Bridget Kelley, psychology major sophomore Samuel Caponi, sophomore communication major Grace Sellers and English major senior Emma Short. Second place went to communication major seniors Udeshi Seneviratne, Josephine Kwan, Annalee Bainnson and senior English and communication double major Catherine White. First place went to first-year Corey Wirth and undeclared major sophomore Alyssa Vadala.
