Frugal Foodie: Easy-Peasy Pumpkin Pie

While the holiday season looks different this year, that should not stop each of us from indulging in some delicious food. We should still enjoy a delicious pie, whether homemade or store bought. This is a pumpkin pie recipe that is both easy and guaranteed to appeal to your taste buds!

Here are the ingredients you will need:

  • 3/4 cup sugar 

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice 

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt 

  • 1 15 oz. can of pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)

  • 1 1/4 cups of evaporated milk or half-and-half 

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1 PillsburyTM Pet-Ritz frozen deep-dish pie crust 


A few easy steps:

  1. Before you do anything, heat the oven to 425°F. 

  2. Then, in a large bowl, mix the ingredients for the filling. 

  3. Pour the mixture into the pie crust.

  4. Bake for 15 minutes. Then, reduce the oven temperature to 350°F.

  5. Continue to bake 40 to 50 minutes longer, or until a knife or toothpick inserted comes out clean. 

  6. Cool the pie for two hours and then proceed to either serve it or refrigerate it.
