Early childhood education major sophomore Veronica Dailey (pictured above) is a transfer student who discusses the obstacles of settling in at a new school, but who also reflects on the success she has had in transitioning to a new school (Leila Sassouni / knights’ life editor).

“I came in last semester from Alfred State, and my whole experience here has been amazing. The teachers are great, my advisors are great and I just love the food. There are so many options, which is weird because a lot of people don’t like the food but at my old college the food wasn’t as great. The programs here are really good too and I really love it. I’m studying early childhood education now and I love it. The teachers are super supportive and it’s really fun to learn about [education] … Last semester I felt out of place, but now I feel like I’m pretty settled in. It was definitely hard being a transfer student and not knowing anybody especially [as] a sophomore … I was doing business [previously] and that was really boring to me and early childhood education is something I want to do because I want to be a teacher.”
