The biggest question currently amongst teenagers is what will happen with summer 2020. Will we still need to worry about social distancing? Will we be able to leave the house without fear?
With the summer season quickly approaching and with the coronavirus circulating, the chance of us experiencing a “normal” summer does not feel very high. As a result, many summer programs and trips have been canceled. Despite all the negativity, though, here are some fun activities to do this summer in the case that we are all still in quarantine.
∙ Enroll in an online class or activity: No, this does not mean go take physics or algebra just to keep your brain working. Sign up for an online class such as Zumba, general dance or anything you find enjoyable. Given the current situation, instructors are likely already using a virtual platform and are probably excited to welcome new members who would like to pick up a new hobby.
∙ Paint: Painting does not only have to be for little kids. In fact, for many people, painting is therapeutic. Spend some time on your artistic talents while also improving yourself mentally and/or emotionally.
∙ Make a project: This idea is deliberately vague. Go make an art project! Go build something cool out of the scraps in your house! Go start a website or a blog! Start and make something cool to keep yourself busy!
∙ Home improvement: Is your room cluttered? Is your bookshelf falling apart? Do you wish your room was a different color? Is your garage way too full of unnecessary items? Take control and do something about it! Help yourself feel productive and happier.
∙ Write: Do you ever feel like sometimes you do not have enough time to just sit and write? Do you feel the need to work on your writing skills? Use this time to further develop yourself. Write a short story about anything. Write for a newspaper. Start a blog. Keep your brain juices flowing!
