Mixed genre performance promotes peace

Geneseo Late Knight and Peace Action Geneseo held “Music for Action” in the Knight Spot on Friday March 27. The performance aimed to promote peace and social justice through music, featuring locally-based Red Kettle Collective and the Albany-based group Taína Asili y la Banda Rebelde. Geneseo’s own Red Kettle Collective opened with a blend of funk and hip-hop to warm up the audience.

“Breaking Bad” addicts can finally relax. AMC aired the premiere of “Better Call Saul,” a spinoff of the 16-time Emmy Award-winning show, on Feb. 8. The new series focuses on criminal lawyer Saul Goodman, first introduced to “Breaking Bad” viewers as the frenzied owner of a strip mall law office in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Partnering with Geneseo Late Knight, Geneseo Organization for Deaf Awareness brought deaf comedian Andrew Fisher to the MacVittie College Union Ballroom on Friday Jan. 23. While born deaf, Fisher has a natural knack for comedy. Getting his start in Manhattan and Brooklyn, he’s widened his audience by touring colleges and universities all over the Midwest and East Coast.
