Geneseo softball’s 2018 season officially made its home opener on March 28 with a doubleheader against the Alfred University Saxons.

With warmer temperatures and clearer skies right around the corner, Geneseo softball is ready for its first local games of the 2018 season.

The Geneseo women’s basketball team took home the SUNYAC Title after defeating the SUNY New Paltz Hawks Friday Feb. 23 63-57 in the first round of the tournament and winning against the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons 58-53 in the finals in front of an energetic Geneseo crowd on Saturday Feb. 24. 

With the regular season completed as of Saturday Feb. 17, the Geneseo women’s basketball team will make its first playoff appearance of 2018 on Friday Feb. 23 at home.

Geneseo’s favorite time of the year is back—the Geneseo men’s hockey team, the Ice Knights, have returned once again, sending a surge of energy throughout campus.

Despite having a difficult weekend of play, the Geneseo men’s soccer team finds themselves in the SUNYAC playoffs this year after barely missing the tournament last year. 

There are only eight more days until Oct. 27, when the Geneseo Ice Knights will have their first home game. With the return of our beloved Ice Knights, any stress, which often comes at this point of the semester, will be relieved—at least during the games. 

The Geneseo volleyball team continued their success last weekend in Poughkeepsie. The Knights played three games this weekend along the Hudson River: the team faced the Nazareth College Golden Flyers on Friday Sept. 29, the Western Connecticut State Colonials and host school Vassar College Brewers both on Saturday Sept. 30.

The Geneseo field hockey team looks to bounce back after losing their last two games on the road—four of their last five in total—in SUNYAC play. Despite goals from senior forwards Cara Stafford and Giovanna Fasanello in regulation, the Knights were unable to score in overtime or double overtime on Friday Sept. 22, falling to SUNY Oneonta 3-2. The next day, Fasanello was the only Knight to score in a 4-2 loss to SUNY New Paltz after a back-and-forth game.
