The Geneseo women’s basketball team earned the third overall seed in their conference this season with a 22-4 record. Due to their success this season, the Knights hosted the first round of the SUNYAC Tournament on Tuesday Feb. 25 against SUNY Brockport.

On Friday Feb. 14, the Geneseo Ice Knights were in the Ira S. Wilson Ice Arena for the final time for a 2020 regular season game. That means it was also the last home regular season game for senior forward and team captain Conlan Keenan.

While holding a narrow SUNYAC lead over the SUNY Oswego Lakers on Friday Feb. 7, the Geneseo Ice Knights were excitedly anticipating traveling to Oswego for a huge, rivalry matchup with real playoff implications. However, Mother Nature had other plans as a snowstorm contributed to the game being postponed and rescheduled to Sunday Feb. 9.

The Geneseo Ice Knights had a successful weekend while visiting the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs. They won their first game on Friday Jan. 31 with a score of 6-0 and swept the weekend doubleheader on Saturday Feb. 1 by a score of 8-3.

The Geneseo Ice Knights were finally back in action last weekend, playing in front of a packed Ira S. Wilson Ice Arena for the first time in 2020. Geneseo had played two home games over the winter break, but despite outscoring their opponents 18-4 in those two games, it was not the same for the players without their enthusiastic and supportive classmates.

A winter storm forced many Geneseo students to return to campus early, but the Geneseo Ice Knights were on campus even earlier for a weekend slate against two Massachusetts teams, the Amherst College Mammoths and the Williams College Ephs.

A game featuring two teams ranked in the top five nationwide for Division III always has the potential to be high scoring. The game between the second-ranked Geneseo Ice Knights and third ranked SUNY Oswego was certainly high scoring, with ten total goals scored.

The Geneseo Ice Knights moved up to second place in the United States College Hockey Online ranking on Tuesday Nov. 11. They earned that recognition with a 10-2 rout of the SUNY Canton Kangaroos.

The Geneseo field hockey team took another step toward avenging their 2018 SUNYAC Championship loss this past weekend. Geneseo beat SUNY Oswego 4-1 to clinch first place in their conference, which means they will be playing all their playoff games comfortably nestled at home in the Genesee valley.

Allen must put together a full, dominant four-quarter performance before he can be crowned the Bills’ franchise quarterback. At times it seems Allen is trying to do too much to win that franchise QB title. In the team’s Week 4 loss against New England, Allen threw three interceptions and took too many avoidable sacks. In his last two games, however, he has limited interceptions and thrown the ball away to avoid taking sacks, which shows he is willing to adapt.

Winning has become the norm for the Geneseo field hockey team. The last time the 10-2 Knights lost a game, Geneseo students could still add or drop a class, it was still technically summer and the NFL season was only one week old.
