Some of you may ask, “but this is the sports section, why am I reading about video games?” I would have to agree that this seems out of place at first, but with a little more thought, it becomes obvious.

So far, 2020 has been a wild year for the world. It goes without saying that COVID-19 has touched every facet of our lives, but in the past few days, football fans have been heavily distracted from reality. On Tuesday April 21, it was announced that the New England Patriots traded tight end Rob Gronkowski and a seventh-round draft pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a fourth-round pick. This monumental trade means that a reunion with quarterback Tom Brady isn’t a far-fetched idea anymore. The trade was soon confirmed by Gronkowski’s agent Drew Rosenhaus to CBS Sports.

Geneseo cross country continued their successful season on Saturday Oct. 5 traveling to run at the Lehigh Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Penn., as well as the Houghton Highlander Invitational in Houghton, N.Y. The women’s squad placed a runner in first place in both races, as senior Genny Corcoran and senior Molly Byrne left everyone in the dust behind them. The men’s group performed well but didn’t have a runner place first in either race.

Last weekend, Geneseo’s club ultimate frisbee team traveled to their first organized tournament of the year, Head of the Pig, on Clarkson University’s campus in Potsdam, N.Y. Although the club is normally split between the men’s team Snail and the women’s team Escargot, the team competed as a single co-ed entity for this tournament. Women’s and men’s team captains collaborated to create a fun but competitive atmosphere for the rest of the roster during play.
