Recently released on Netflix, “The Politician” is the latest work from Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuck, the team behind such shows as “Glee” and “American Horror Story.” “The Politician” follows the journey of high school senior Payton Hobart—portrayed by Ben Platt— who plans to run for president one day. Along with getting into Harvard, Hobart feels that he desperately needs to win his school’s student body president election to secure his path to a national victory years down the line.
