This year the Geneseo Foundation in conjunction with Follett Higher Education Group will award six $3,000 stipends for its summer fellowship – $500 more than has been gifted per recipient in past years.
According to Anne Baldwin, director of Sponsored Research at Geneseo, the decision to increase the funding was made in order to better match "what students would have received if they were employed for the summer."
The fellowship, designed to provide students with a means to conduct summer research projects under the direction of a faculty member, will accept applications for the upcoming summer through Feb. 18.
The Geneseo Research Department has so far received 128 applications for Undergraduate Research and Travel Grants, "a record number" according to Baldwin.
Recipients for the summer fellowships will be announced in the upcoming months.
