Baby Yoda (2019)
W.C. Hoag
In Greek mythology, mortals cannot look upon a god’s true form without being incinerated on the spot. A recent edition to the pop-culture lexicon, perhaps our modern equivalent to a Greek god, provokes a similar, albeit more welcome, response: a fiery parental instinct, explosive giggle fits and violent, unabashed joy.
The culmination of a decade pervaded with strife, hate and turmoil resulted in a gift too pure for our undeserving world. Baby Yoda is the best of the decade because of the way he inspires hope, unity and positivity during a time when those qualities are increasingly more difficult to come by.
