The Geneseo tennis team swept a pair of Division II opponents and Springfield College during a spring break trip to Puerto Rico.
The Knights won their three matches by a combined score of 26-1.
Geneseo swept the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez on March 18 and five Knights earned victories in their single games in straight sets.
Sophomore Zakiyyah Abdus-Salaam posted victories in fifth singles and third doubles alongside classmate Minxuan Yuan. Abdus-Salaam remains the only Knight undefeated on the season.
Sophomore Amanda Rosati and senior Sarah Shields improved their perfect record at second doubles to 6-0 with an 8-5 win. Both Rosati and Shields posted straight-set wins in third and fourth singles, respectively.
The Knights swept another Division II opponent the following day against the University of Puerto Rico at Río Piedras.
Freshman Marylen Santos and senior Katie Talbot paired up to win first doubles 8-1. Santos and Talbot also earned victories in first and third singles, respectively.
Rosati and Shields remained perfect at second doubles with an 8-1 win to improve their record to 7-0. The duo won fourth and fifth singles, respectively.
Geneseo won third doubles and second and sixth singles by default.
On Friday March 22, the Knights closed the spring break trip with an 8-1 win over Springfield.
All three doubles pairs earned victories, with Rosati and Shields continuing their perfect streak at second doubles.
Freshman Jess Ringler beat sophomore Ashley Duhaime at sixth singles for the first win of her career.
The Knights hosts Roberts Wesleyan College for their spring home opener at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday April 3.
