The Lamron is a student-run newspaper that prints a weekly edition on Fridays comprised of five sections: News, Opinion, Arts and Entertainment, Knights’ Life and Sports. Every Wednesday, members of the paper’s editorial board work for up to 12 hours in The Lamron office, putting together the paper by editing articles, fact-checking and designing the layout. As students who are balancing classes, other club commitments and jobs, mistakes are regrettably bound to pop up during this process.

It was a huge weekend for the Geneseo volleyball team. Winning their matches on Friday Oct. 25 and Saturday Oct. 26 solidified their status as the SUNYAC No. 1 seed, giving them home-court advantage for the postseason and kept them undefeated in the SUNYAC. The Knights faced SUNY Cortland and SUNY Oswego and won both matches three sets to one.

Allen must put together a full, dominant four-quarter performance before he can be crowned the Bills’ franchise quarterback. At times it seems Allen is trying to do too much to win that franchise QB title. In the team’s Week 4 loss against New England, Allen threw three interceptions and took too many avoidable sacks. In his last two games, however, he has limited interceptions and thrown the ball away to avoid taking sacks, which shows he is willing to adapt.

Saturday Oct. 19 was senior night for the Knights, but it was freshman forward Maggie Phipps who stole the show for Geneseo. Phipps put up four goals for the Knights and erased any hope for the SUNY Oneonta team that saw their first-quarter lead quickly made null and void.

The Knights improved their record to 14-9 this weekend when they traveled to Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y. for the Clarkson Invitational where they played against the Nazareth Golden Flyers, the Clarkson Golden Knights and the St. Lawrence Saints. The Knights found themselves 2-1 on the weekend, beating Nazareth and St. Lawrence while facing defeat at the hands of Clarkson.
