Daylight Savings Time is coming up; on Saturday March 8 we’ll all lose 60 minutes of sleep as our clocks spring forward. Many people will groan about our loss of beauty sleep—especially us Geneseo college students, where sleep deprivation is part of our daily culture.

I write in reference to an article in The Lamron titled “Legalization of sex work in U.S. would ensure safety within industry, surrounding community,” by Aliyha Gill. As stated in the text, the predicted benefits of legalization include the ability to report malicious behaviors without fear of punishment as well as a decrease in sex-trafficking. Legalization also encourages the use of protection, which results in a decreased risk of STIs.

While online ordering was implemented in Geneseo’s dining halls to assist students and faculty in managing their time, many users unrealistically expect error-free service from those working behind the Starbucks counter. At Starbucks, up to 14 online orders can be submitted every 10 minutes. Coupled with the often long line of walk-in orders, it’s nearly impossible for baristas to finish orders quick enough to ensure a minimal wait time for every customer.

2020 Olympic Games in question due to coronavirus
Every four years the world comes together to celebrate an ancient athletic tradition. The Summer Olympic Games have been a way for people from every corner of the globe to distract themselves by watching athletes compete for a coveted gold medal, or function as the pinnacle of national pride and physical ability for the competitors themselves. This year, the games are set to be held in Tokyo, beginning on July 24 and concluding on Aug. 9.

For a small fee of $5, audience members were granted admission to the two-act concert.
